HOW TO INSTALL THE SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER AND PANEL
Porta-Dock offers a 10W and 20W solar panel. Feed the wiring of the solar panel down through the top of the solar panel arm tube and out the hole in the bottom of the arm. Bolt the solar panel to the solar panel arm with the provided 5/16″ bolt, washers, and nut. Tighten the hardware to secure the panel in place. It’s recommended to bolt the solar panel to the arm at either 45 or 90 degrees. The solar panel should be turned so it can face the sun as much as possible when it is mounted to the lift. Adjust the angle of the solar panel as needed for your placement. The arm can be fastened to the lift with either two hose clamps, or by using the 3/4″, self-tapping screws. Hook the black wire to the negative post on the battery and hook the other wire to the positive post. Then push the power button on the backside of the solar panel. Make sure your solar panel has a charge controller on the back, and that it works properly, or the battery can overcharge and explode. Refer to the solar charge controller manual to monitor the solid and flashing lights.
